Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the area, producing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Damage
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered power outages after the capital city recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations received nearly 600 calls for help across the area, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.
Medical Alert
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after past events where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
