Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, however can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

My son told me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
