Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

American actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, according to reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a statement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific Television Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
