A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort seeks to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.
An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"
Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”
Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.
“It has a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”
Recording Origins and Featured Artists
The song was recorded in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.
The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a group of prominent voices from the industry. All participated in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Lullaby was produced by a trio of producers and composers. The single blends a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a figure said. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”
The situation in the territory was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.
“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is first of all making this cause better known and proving that another narrative exists.”
The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
