Actor Rejects Anti-Vax Position After Voicing Controversial Covid Film

Liam Neeson has provided his vocal talents to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and commends ex- health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Documentary's Disputed Origins

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book written by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the global outbreak for assertions that the illness was a result of a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

Her collaborator, the executive producer, has also written books with controversial radio host the Infowars host. Heckenlively wrote online praising Neeson's participation in the documentary.

A Strong Denial

The team of the actor have issued a comment strongly denying suggestions that he supports anti-vax views.

"We all acknowledge that corruption might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be equated to being against vaccines," the comment states. "Liam is not, and is not, against vaccines. His long work with the UN children's agency reinforces his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The response noted that the star was not involved in crafting the project's editorial content and that inquiries about its content are best addressed to the filmmakers.

Key Themes Featured in the Documentary

According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson features several controversial claims:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "research has become highly politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
  • It also criticizes pandemic restrictions, saying they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it references a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Context and Recent Debates

The film further cites a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the topic of a formal apology by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.

In recent weeks, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to revise its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation stating no such link has been found.

A Previous Statement of Support

Differing from the film's tone, Neeson has formerly shown strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he described vaccines as "an incredible achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."

The film finishes with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the finish of our narrative. This is the start of a different phase."
